Vintage Navajo Squash & Blue Gem Turquoise Naja Necklace, c. 1950's

This elegant Naja necklace was made in the 1950’s. A single turquoise stone serves as the focal point and is flanked by traditional Navajo pearls and sterling silver squash blossoms. Each sterling silver bead was hand-cast, and there are a total of 18 squash blossoms. The Naja pendant itself is a bold addition to the otherwise dainty piece and features twisted silver wire and natural oxidation thanks to its age. The overall look is quintessentially southwest, and the perfect representation of traditional Native American jewelry design. The Vintage Navajo Squash and Lucky Turquoise Naja Necklace is 19 inches in length and has a hook closure.
