Aaron Lopez
Santa Fe, NM
Aaron Lopez was born in Mexico City of an Aztec mother and Mixtec father. At a young age, he became enamored with found objects such as rocks, pieces of wood, and nails, with which he would construct home made toys.
In 1980, his friend Patricia Guadarrama inspired him to join an artisanal collective called "Movimiento Manos que Hablan". It was here that Aaron learned the refined skill of braiding leather jewelry. Since this formative moment, he has been pursuing his passion for leather passionately.
Aaron now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico and remains one of the finest leather braiders in the Southwest.
